According to the Associated Press, possible side effects for the skin rejuvenation methods Sosa has used include discoloration of the skin, causing the treated area to appear lighter or darker.

But the Daily News reported that Polihronis says that the 40-year-old Sosa’s skin complexion isn’t as bright if seen in person and that the camera added most of the brightness.

“The picture is deceiving,” she said. “He [told me], ‘If you saw me in person, you would be surprised. When you see me in person, it is not going to seem like the picture.’”
