Sanjay Dutt woos voters in Lucknow

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 5:03 am

Wooing voters for the fourth day in a row, cine star and Samajwadi Party nominee for Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, Sanjay Dutt, on Tuesday (March 16) interacted with party workers, opened two election offices and visited several areas in the constituency.

Inaugurating an election office in Alambagh, Dutt exhorted party workers to launch an aggressive poll campaign to expand party’s support base in the state capital. He also visited district offices of party’s women and youth wings and spent time with activists there.

In Alambagh, an enthusiastic supporter tried to get close to the star with the purpose of getting photographed with him. When party workers stopped him, he shouted loudly creating a scene. Security personnel intervened and the order was restored. Dutt, who is likely to stay in the city for electioneering throughout the month, yesterday met Muslim clerics and visited temples.
