State Bank of India (SBI) today (February 3) said that even in the current economic slowdown it did not believe in retrenchment but recruitment.
The bank has never stopped recruiting new employees and it is taking place at all levels, SBI Chief General Manager D K Jain said.
In reply to a question, Jain said no one could predict how long the economic slowdown was to last.
Till about a year ago, everyone was saying that the India story was a big success but we know where things stand today, he added.
The Chief General Manager said that the SBI had introduced a number of schemes for home loan borrowers and those engaged in small businesses.
