SC asks for comparison report on petroleum prices The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered OGRA and Ministry of Petroleum to present a comparison report on the local and international oil prices in form of a chart before the court.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary also directed to present the report of Rana Baghwandas Commission during the hearing of the petition regarding petroleum prices. The commission’s report had revealed that the government earned billions of rupees under the petroleum head and imposed unlimited taxes on the petroleum prices. The CJ observed that LPG should be provided on economical rates in villages too. He also directed Attorney General to submit a report of those were beneficiaries in increase of petroleum prices. “Entire nation should be benefited except a few people,” CJ maintained.
