Situation of atta & sugar improved in Punjab

Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan:- On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, provincial administration took a number of steps for abundant supply of atta, sugar and other edibles in Sastey Ramazan bazaars as a result of which situation of the market is improving. As many as 9.86 lakh atta bags and four lakh 32 thousand five hundred and forty kilogram sugar were provided in Sasta Ramazan bazaars in Punjab the last day. The consumers are getting 20-kg atta bag at Rs.200 and 10-kg atta bag at Rs.100 while sugar was available at Rs.40 per kg in Ramazan bazaars. There were no long queues in most of these bazaars in provincial metropolis. Due to the steps taken by the administration, atta, sugar and other edibles were available more than the demand and everyone made purchases at fixed rates. The long queues ended due to the abundant supply of atta in Ramazan Sastey Bazaars.
According to buyers, now the supply of sugar and atta at fixed prices has been improved and the consumers are purchasing edibles as per their needs. According to the information, more than 2 lakh atta bags of 20-kg and 141000 kg sugar in Lahore, 130548 atta bags and 23941 kg sugar in Faisalabad division, 118572 atta bags and 49914 kg sugar in Multan division, 97552 atta bags and 72850 kg sugar in Gujranwala division, 46,322 atta bags and 21,400 kg sugar in Sargodha division, 57814 atta bags and 28905 kg sugar in DG Khan division, 80384 atta bags and 47250 kg sugar in Bahawalpur division and 173756 atta bags and 47280 kg sugar were supplied in Ramazan bazaars of Rawalpindi division.
The buyers, lauding the steps taken by the Chief Minister regarding abundant supply of atta, sugar and other edibles at fixed prices, said that the problems of fastening people have almost solved and due to other administrative measures of Chief Minister, the officers and officials of concerned departments have become more active. As per market survey, the Chief Minister’s instructions regarding sale of sugar at Rs.47 per kg in open market are being implemented in letter and spirit.
