Space Shuttle Launch Today

On Wednesday, NASA confirms the launch of space shuttle Atlantis for May 14th at 2:20 pm, Eastern. The countdown has Begun and the shuttle will be Launched today from Florida’s Kennedy Space center. The shuttle will carry out it’s 12 day trip to the International Space Station to Deliver an Integrated charge carrier and a mini research module That was built by Russia.
This is supposed to be Atlantis’s last mission Before she’s retired and it should be an exciting one, According To program manager John Shannon. Watch for three spacewalks and “tons of robotics.”
Lift-off is Scheduled for 2:20 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. There’s lots of information about the launch on NASA’s Web site, and Smart Planet Following it will be from NASA Ames Which Is Providing live coverage.
