Suicide attack on Rescue 15 office in ISLAMABAD ISLAMABAD: A loud explosion has been heard near the office of Rescue-15 here on Saturday.

It appears to be a suicide attack at the entrance of Rescue-15 building. Meanwhile, the police shot dead one alleged suicide bomber.

At least one policeman was killed and four others were injured in a suicide attack at a police center here Saturday.

According to preliminary reports, a suicide bomber blew himself up in the backyard of the Capital’s Police Rescue 15 Center in the rush-hour when failed to reach the main building.

DIG Islamabad Police informed the newsmen at the site that one policeman, named Munawar, has lost his life in the incident while four others have injured in the attack among one is in critical situation.

He said that when the attacker attempted to enter the center from the backside policeman deputed at the location warned him and opened fire, injuring the bomber who detonated his suicide jacket later.

An eyewitness told that he heard intense firing for 3-4 minutes followed by a blast.

Ambulances and paramedics arrived at the scene soon after the incident and shifted the corpses and injured to the neighboring PIMS Hospital.
