Sweet Caroline “is a song written and performed by Neil Diamond and officially launched on 16 September 1969, as one. There are three different mixes of this song. The original mono mix of 45 had an orchestra and glockenspiel high compared to the stereo version on the journey of love Salvation Show Brother LP. The third is a remix version is only in the initial release of CD “by Neil Diamond His 12 Greatest Hits”. This version has the orchestra mixed down very remarkable and has mixed choirs. It has a long go too. The song peaked at # 4 on the Billboard charts and eventually went platinum for sales of one million singles .
In the fall of 1969, Diamond performed “Sweet Caroline” on several television programs. He later reached number 8 on the UK singles in 1971. In an interview in 2007, Diamond revealed the inspiration for “Sweet Caroline” was President John F. Kennedy ‘s daughter, Caroline Kennedy, who was eleven at the time. Diamond sang the song to her on her 50th birthday celebration in 2007.
