Syed Munawar Hasan Elected as New Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer

LAHORE: Syed Munawwar Hassan was formally announced to be elected the new Ameer of Jamat Islami on Saturday.
Qazi Hussain Ahmed had regretted to be the top leader of Jamat Islami for fifth time.
Liaquat Baloch and Siraj-ul-Haq were other two contestants in the election for the top slot of the party.
About 30,000 party members participated in voting for election of the new Jamat leader.
Munawwar Hassan has been the fourth top leader of Jamat Islami after the party founder Maulana Abul Aala Maudodi, Maulana Tufail Ahmed and Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
