Target-killing in Karachi Not to be Tolerated: Rehman Malik

KARACHI: Minister for Interior Rehman Malik on Tuesday assured all out measures to avert the target-killing incidents in the metropolitan.
Addressing a news conference here flanked by the Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan after holding a meeting with him, the minister said that zero tolerance would be observed for the issue of target-killing in Karachi.
“From now, no target killing incident would take place here; if so, you will se who we tackle it…The black sheep would be eliminated wherever they are found.”
He affirmed that the miscreant element, hatching conspiracies against the state, would be dealt with an iron hand.
All such issues would be resolved taking onboard Muttahida Qaumi Movement and other ruling coalition partners, Malik observed.
The minister nullifying the reports categorically stated that Sindh Governor was not being changed as “there is no truth in such reports.”
He said President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have clearly contradicted it and the PM had specially asked him for its contradiction.
He said the media should not float such reports without their confirmation.
“Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad is not being replaced. He is standing with me and he will remain the Governor of Sindh”, he told the reporters at the Governor House.
In the meeting the obtaining situation in the Province and particularly establishment of lasting peace came under consideration.
