Thirteen Judges Appointed By President

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the appointment of two new judges to the Supreme Court (SC) and 11 additional judges to the Peshawar and Balochistan high courts.
Justice Khilji Arif Hussain of the Sindh High Court (SHC) and Justice (r) Rehmat Hussain Jaffery have both been appointed SC judges.
The president also approved the appointment of seven additional judges to the Peshawar High Court (PHC) – Abdul Aziz Kundi, Fasihul Mulk, Liaqat Ali, Mazhar Alam Minakhel, Attaullah Khan, Muhammad Safdar Khan and Miftahuddin Khan – raising the total strength of the PHC to 14.
The president also appointed four additional judges to the Balochistan High Court (BHC) – Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Tahira Safdar, Muhammad Noor Meskanzai and Ghulam Mustafa Mengal.
Farhatullah Babar said the president had approved the appointments on the prime minister’s advice and in accordance with recommendations by the chief justice.
