Twenty20 Cricket World Cup in UK The second edition of Twenty20 Cricket World Cup will be held at different venues of United Kingdom from June 5 to 21, 2009, according to information received here on Thursday.

Twelve teams drawn in four groups will be taking part in the 16-day competition.

The robin league will be played between June 5 to 10, the super eight round from June 11 to 16.

Reigning Champion India will be defending their crown in the event which they won at Johannesburg in August 2007 with thrilling victory over Pakistan.

Top two teams of every group after the round robin league contest will qualify for the super eight round.

The 2007 winner India, Bangladesh and Ireland are drawn in group “A”, group “B” consists of Pakistan, England and Netherlands.  Group “C” have Australia, Sri Lanka and West Indies and New Zealand, Scotland and South Africa are placed in group “D”.
