World War II Veteran dead

A Second World War veteran, Flt.Lt.P V Joseph, died of old age related illness last night at his residence near here, family sources said. He was 85 and a bachelor.
Joseph had joined the British Royal Air Force in 1939 as trainee. He was with the Royal Air Force from 1943 to 1945 and had served at Cox Bazar,Feni and Chittagong.
He was conferred the ‘Burma Star War Medal’, Independence and Raksha Medals of the Royal Air Force.
After retirement from Indian Air Force in June 1979 as Flight Lieutenant, Joseph was actively associated with social and philanthropic activities.
